SPLASHBALL:
THIS SATURDAY at Cherokee Aquatic Center at 3pm! Bring your friends, neighbors, cousins or anyone ages 7-11 for this FREE introductory water polo session!
- What is Splashball? Splashball is coined by USAWP to introduce younger water polo to athletes with little-to-no water polo proficiency. It includes a different take on water polo: there is no contact, and it takes place in a shallow pool. The target age is 7-11.
- What should you expect? Head down to the pool deck with your young athlete around 3:00. GWPL representatives will be at the shallow pool to greet you. GWPL representatives will start with introductions, stretches, and verbal instructions to make athletes comfortable. The 1-hour session will include games, swim exercises, and ball handling. There will also be some shooting games. Parents are welcome to sit by the shallow pool and watch. Before you arrive:
- Register for USAWP (free 14-day trial available here!)
- Have your athlete wear a suit. Pack a towel, water and a snack.
